Do you ever commit to a thing (say starting a blog, perhaps) and then immediately find something else that steals your attention. I’m not sure what it is about this season of life, but my spare time has been consumed by cookbooks. Of all the possible distractions, who reads cookbooks?! Ever frugal, I’ve been checking them out from the library. Here’s what I’ve read in the past month:
And now I’m working my way through Magnolia Table.
I’m oscillating between Jojo’s biscuits and the call to a no/low carb diet. I’m currently researching and planning out what it would look like to do the Whole 30. I feel like it’s a huge challenge this summer because there is no 30 day period where I’m not traveling (and somewhat at the mercy of other people cooking) until after our mid-July beach trip, which would push me through past my birthday. I have mixed feelings- overall I think we eat pretty well, with balanced diets. We could definitely stand to do a few more high veggie/low carb meals each week. Am I ready to totally make the cut? I’m not sure. I do like the idea of committing to a period and allowing a reset on my sugar cravings (I’m looking at you leftover Christmas candy that calls from my colleague’s office).
Have you done a Whole 30? Does your sweet tooth get you in trouble? Any advice for me?
